Symptoms can include:
- Repetitions: repeating sounds, syllables, words or phrases that interferes with natural rhythm and flow of speech.
- Prolongations: holding onto a sound for an extended period of time (e.g., “lllike this”)
- Blocks: Difficulty getting any sound out then sometimes a “burst” of air or tension is released and the sound is started.
Commonly starts during childhood and persists into adulthood.
